NOTES FROM THE EDITORS
Dear Reader,
Our inaugural issue, Daybreak, marks the beginning of a journey of creativity and individuality. Eterna Journal is a kaleidoscope of multicultural perspectives, promoting global literature and showcasing the diversity of international writers and artists.
As fleeting parts of an infinite universe, we long to leave traces of our identity upon the world. As a multilingual literary magazine, Eterna Journal amplifies distinct voices and fosters meaningful cultural exchange. Every thought holds the potential to bloom through creativity—just as the world awakens in the promising light of daybreak.
A wonderland of imagination, Daybreak captures a myriad of emotions, experiences, and personalities––exploring love and losses, life and time, heroism and choice. This collection resuscitates rivers of nostalgia, retrieves stray shards of memory, and illuminates paths toward self-rediscovery.
We are deeply grateful to our incredible contributors for bringing this journey to life. Issue 1 brings together voices from across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It features eleven writers from nine countries, writing in English, Chinese, Spanish, and French—each offering unique insights that enrich our cultural understanding. Your voices have left an indelible mark on the dawn of our journey together, and we are honored to share your work with the world!
A special thanks to our editorial and art teams for reviewing submissions, offering thoughtful feedback, and creating a vibrant digital edition that combines literary beauty with artistic elegance.
Words carry an eternal power to influence, connect, and empower. Please take a moment to revel in the unique perspectives within these pages, and let the promise of Daybreak guide you and elicit endless possibilities.
With gratitude,
Zhihan Zhang and Yixin Zhou
Editor-in-Chief and Art Director of Eterna Journal
